“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 18, No. 5 May 2009

There seems to be a quietness in the land right now. It also is happening in the spirit realm. It is a sense of wait and see! Please remain on the alert during this time and do not grow discouraged or take action without the Lord’s direction. Our God is working at a level we don’t totally understand, but nevertheless He is at work on our behalf because everything is working for our benefit if we love Him.

The Psalmist warns us: Psa 35:20 (KJV) “For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against [them that are] quiet in the land.”

The enemy is devising schemes against the Body of Christ right now. Don’t be alarmed or take for granted anything. Stay in tune even if there is quietness. Remain on the alert for the signs are surely with us that evil is closing in. Stir yourself up if you have to so you will not fall asleep at the helm. Rom 13:11 “And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed.”

Yes, our salvation is drawing near. Trouble is all around us, yet our God is preparing for great salvation to all who will come and receive the atonement of Christ for their souls. Our redemption is drawing near and we will be delivered from our foes.

In Christ,

Holy Priesthood

1Pe 2:5 (KJV) “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”

1Pe 2:9 (KJV) “But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”

God is preparing a holy, royal priesthood to minister to Him and the nations of the earth. These will become the possessions of God. Their destiny is to be a firstfruits of mankind. It is because of this group of individuals that everything else will be made possible.

If you sense the call to be a firstfruits unto God, then the Holy Spirit will reveal this to you. If it is not your calling, then try to understand those who are so absorbed in the Lord. It is in this discernment that we can understand the call to maturity in the body of saints.

This call today includes the blowing of trumpets and Day of Atonement causing us to become aware of what is inside of us and how it is operating. When we can say in all that we do, “Nevertheless Your will be done,” we are close to living in the fullness of the Spirit which enables us to become holy, royal priests to the Lord. Because it brings us closer to the Lord than we ever thought possible, we endure with patience great trials and prisons, turning our wills over to God more and more.

We are taking hold of eternal life, making a good confession before many witnesses (1 Tim.6:12).

The beginning of entering into the Kingdom of God is the fulfillment of Trumpets. In his Kingdom, Satan is driven from us. This is the race we are to run in and the good fight of faith we are to fight in.

When God began to raise up a nation of priests or Levites through all the multitude of Israelites, He was producing a holy nation, bringing them closer to God. The priests had no inheritance among the children of Israel. God was their inheritance (Num.18:20), not because their character was better, but because of their calling.

When God was establishing the priesthood, He placed great emphasis on the degree of holiness. They were being drawn closer through worship and partaking of His holy nature. Because this drawing was initiated by God, there was no contentment unless they were pressing into God.

Revelation 4:9-11 is a picture of the priesthood – 24 people – 12 from the Mosaic covenant and 12 from the new covenant symbolizing the number of those whose role will be in the Kingdom to be in God’s Presence; to worship Him; and to speak of His worthiness. [12 = completeness of God’s household x 2 = union with God. The number 12 also represent the fullness of authority.]

I believe there are those today who want to worship Him with great fervency. They will continue to press into his Presence even through all the turmoil and confusion. They simply want to know Him for who He is. This is the love of God in its fullness.

Jesus was asked who would get to sit with Him in His Kingdom. His answer was those who are baptized with the cup of sorrow. When we allow God to deal with us night and day, the more we endure, the higher we go into His holiness, being perfected in every aspect of our life. IT LOOKS UNNATURAL AND FEELS UNNATURAL, BUT A DRAWING IS TRULY TAKING PLACE.

The wheat of righteousness is coming to maturity this day so God can remove the tares. This righteousness is the character of Christ being formed in us. When Christ is strong enough in us, He begins to pull out the weeds of wickedness. We are to judge the evil that comes forth. As we confess, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us. Then, over a period of time, He cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

If, when the Spirit of God points out sin to you and you do not confess it and turn from it but follow your carnal ways, that sin remains in you. Then in the end, Christian or not, Jesus says this: Mat 13:40 “As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.”

This destruction does not take place as long as you keep obeying the Lord, i.e. as long as you are being saved. When you go to a doctor, sometimes he tells you that he will save you if you do what he says. But if you don’t, how can you be healed?

Every time we obey, the law of God is engraved in our mind so we might comprehend the will and ways of God. Then the law of God is engraved on our hearts so we might love to serve Him and do His will. Sometimes we have an image of what we think things should be like, but in many cases these ideas and voices are not coming from God. Only God’s ways bring continual peace when tested. Through this testing, we are being changed into a holy priesthood.

What does this holy, royal priesthood mean? You could guarantee your salvation from 2 Pet.1:5-7 and by adding to your faith these 7 virtues. This process gives us as Priests the authority of faith, the authority of character and the authority to be messengers of Christ because we are living in union with Him. Our unity with Him culminates not in an office or institution, but in Christ ruling through us.

In the Apostolic movement of today this holy royal priesthood is a consecration of those who have said, “Yes” to this call to allow Christ to rule us. We go forth carrying an ethical holiness – not just consisting of a status, but a determination based on relationship that produces practical expressions of character and conduct.

2 Cor.7:1 tells us we must cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. It is a progressive sanctification and cleansing until Christ can present to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing (Eph.5:26-27).

Let me tell you what the word “Royal” means biblically:
· Belonging to a king
· Having kingly power, dignity and authority
· Fit for a king

In the Book of Esther we find several results of royalty:
· Royal wine
· Royal Crown
· Royal estate
· Royal house
· Royal apparel
· Royal throne
· Royal Kingdom
· Royal kingly power & dignity
· Royal city
· Royal diadem
· Royal pavilion
· Royal scepter
· Royal Seed

Do these royal benefits sound like something worth striving for?

For the priesthood today there are special manifestations of divine power that will issue out like divine energies of living water to set people free. This outpouring bestows a Godlike character which makes us who were at one time children of the devil into sons of God

The Captain of the Host is going to appear. Hell is gearing up with great fear. Many who started out on this journey have died in the wilderness because they grumbled and complained against God. But there are a warring people who are ready to obey Joshua (Jesus). We gladly take our place in this army and obey the Spirit of God. Satan and his forces are fighting furiously against the Royal Seed. We have the blood of Christ applied to our hearts. We are establishing our roles as a holy, royal priesthood. NOW is the time to gain the victory and maintain that victory until the Lord returns.

All this wonderful victory and royalty are for you if this is what you desire with all your heart. God only asks you to be cheerful in believing and obedient to His will. And no force of hell can withstand you. IT IS ALL YOURS Just do whatever He says to do and do it with all your might. And He shall bring you eternal joy. Jesus has been your Alpha, let Him be your Omega. He shall not fail nor forsake you.

The Changed Heart

Luk 15:1-2 (KJV) “Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him. (2) And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.”

Jesus treated publicans and sinners with common respect and He was a friend to them in that He offered them salvation. In that day, just as in our day, those who are used to talking others down could not receive the truth because of the evil thoughts of their own hearts.

Luk 7:33-50 (KJV) “For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil. (34) The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! (35) But wisdom is justified of all her children. (36) And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat. (37) And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that [Jesus] sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, (38) And stood at his feet behind [him] weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe [them] with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed [them] with the ointment. (39) Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw [it], he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman [this is] that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. (40) And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. (41) There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. (42) And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? (43) Simon answered and said, I suppose that [he], to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. (44) And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped [them] with the hairs of her head. (45) Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. (46) My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. (47) Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little. (48) And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. (49) And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? (50) And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”

The things that this woman most wanted to say about Jesus were manifested by her actions that day as she took what was dearest to her heart and poured it out unto Jesus as an offering of faith and humility. Even though she had worked as a sinner for that precious oil, her actions proclaimed without words that she was willing to leave it all to worship The Lord. The contrast shines brightly upon the dead religious hearts of the scribes and Pharisees as seen by the difference between their deeds and the deeds that are manifested through the changed heart of a forgiven sinner.

Luk 6:44-49 (KJV) “For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. (45) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. (46) And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (47) Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: (48) He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. (49) But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”

The fruit of our lips, as well as the way we live our lives, shows clearly the condition of our hearts. Often times other people notice that something is wrong even before we do when our conversation is showing moral deterioration. Thank God we can still repent and ask the Lord for help so that the love of God may be restored in us, and our testimony of God’s goodness may be manifested through our changed hearts.

Courage

While we cannot "give" or "impart" Courage to another, we can offer enCouragement during difficult times.

Each person must "take" ie. "receive" his own courage from the Christ inside of him.

How to enCourage one's self and others to "take COURAGE":

COMFORT- Comfort one another

OVERCOME- Overcome the fiery darts of doubt

UTTER - Utter (or say, i.e. confess) what God has said, especially His personal Rhema

REMIND- Remind others and self of God's faithfulness

ANSWER- Answer Fear with Faith

GIVE - Give no place to the devil (refuse to accept "vain imaginations," doubt, worry, etc.)

ESTABLISH - Establish yourself on the unshakable Rock of Christ and His Word.

I personally find enCouragement to "take courage" by reminding myself of two truths:

1) God knows the end from the beginning.

2) Nothing takes Him by surprise.

As members of the Body of Christ, we need to offer more acknowledgement, appreciation, and enCouragement to those members around us who are faithfully performing their God-assigned tasks, as is demonstrated in Isaiah 41:6-7 “They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage. So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.”

Such responses keep each one more mindful of how important his seemingly small part is to what God is building--His Kingdom!

Blessings in Christ,

-Ruth
