“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 19, No. 12 December 2010

Pro 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

If we haven’t already, we better start running. Run into the Lord to find your safety and protection. The hordes of hell are at war against the Church of Christ. The spiritual attacks are mounting, but My God is stronger, greater, higher than any other and He can do what He wants. And He wants a victorious church that rises above the evil and deception that has infiltrated the Body of Christ.

This has been a remarkable year,

but I have never seen so many hurting people. My heart cries out in agony over the spiritual sickness of the Body. I long to see God pour forth His Mercies to restore and release a people into His loving arms once again. The hardships and difficulties oppress and keep us from the fullness of the promises of God. But God will be God. He will reveal Himself and show the world that there is no one else like Him. He will reveal His power and glory to the hurts of mankind. And the Church will arise again from the ashes because the Lord is returning for a glorious church without spot or wrinkle.

So in spite of what we see or experience the Church is still alive and well and we are a part of it if we remain obedient and faithful to the call. Don’t let your personal agenda remove you from the most precious gift you have ever received. The gift of the Holy Spirit to cause you to live for Him!

In Christ,

Amateur Christians

Rev 21:7 (KJV) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

In society we have what are called amateur and professional. The same thing exists in the church. The amateur Christians talk about Christ and lead casual church lives, while the professional Christians struggle night and day to seek Christ. It takes all the determination we possess to keep up with the Holy Spirit as He prepares us to be joined to Christ.

A person who plants grass is not necessarily a farmer. People who cook dinner are not necessarily chefs. Those who administer first aid does not make them a doctor.

All of us can do many things. But the professional is someone whose life is focused on becoming an expert in his field. They will spend countless hours to discipline themselves. Christians should not be any different. The amateur Christian will attend church and sing songs and talk about Christianity. But when the word of conviction comes to their hearts they will talk it away or challenge the necessity for it. These are the amateur Christians, because these things are secondary in their hearts.

Those committed to Jesus first and foremost will forget what lies behind. They will press forward even in the bad weather or bad times or difficult circumstances. They will continually pray to the Lord about everything. They will keep the word of the Lord in the forefront of their mind. They will know their rewards are yet to come.

The amateur Christian believes in spite of their lukewarm commitment they will still be arrayed in royal splendor and live in mansions and have all the comforts of what they believe is a heavenly home. The problem with that mentality is believing materialism to be the answer to this life and the next.

Then there are those who are willing to forsake all in order to have Christ as the center of their life no matter what the cost.

The amateur may be spared hell, but they will never experience the wealth of God that is promised to the overcomer. So the professional will struggle continually while most Christians will pursue the fleshly appetites.

There is a third type of person in the world that we must contend with: Wicked people. One of the worst people we can think about is King Herod. He was so afraid he would lose his throne he had all the babies killed and he gave no thought about the mothers. “Never mind what happens to other people as long as I can have what I want.”

Adolf Hitler was another who killed the people he did not like. The same problem was that he wanted what he wanted without the concern for other people.

Are these people really any different than most? One of the characteristics of the adamic nature is insistence on seeking ones satisfaction even at the expense of others. The world is building up to the greatest conflict of the ages. We hear it every day – with people in verbal conflicts to have what they want at the expense of other people.

One of the main differences between the professional Christian and others is the degree a person is willing to suffer loss if necessary to benefit another. If we must be pleased no matter how other people are affected we do not understand why we are here on the earth.

The Lord Jesus laid down His life that we might be set free from sin. Now it is our turn to lay down our lives that other people may be benefited:

Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

As true Christias we must become like Jesus. While many Christians are not sure whether they should drink beer, go to movies, smoke cigarettes or take drugs; a true Christian is trying to gain more of Christ. We are not trying to escape hell. We are trying to be Christ-like. What does that mean?

What was a Nazarite? Someone of his own free will chose to make a vow of holiness to the Lord. During certain times of his life he would vow not to eat, drink or do certain things from cutting his hair to going to funerals.

We are so accustomed today of judging everything in terms of our own comfort (we even judge what is God based on our comfort), that we are missing the actual desires that God has for us. We are proud and haughty Christians that think we know all about God and Christ and actually know nothing at all. We have God all figured out from Genesis to Revelation. We say we are not under law but under grace and forget how to look on other people and how to walk in the law of the Spirit of life, we neglect coming into the rest of God where our entire personality becomes part of the will of God.

This time for the church is to gain the understanding of the Kingdom of God. The Divine judgment that is beginning to fall on America is going to change our lifestyle and the way we think about God and life. We must continually be practicing the presence of God in our life.

There are wonderful days ahead for the person who is no longer amateur in their faith and walk. Those who try to keep one foot in the gospel and the other in the world will be hung between heaven and earth like Absalom, until they are pierced through with the Antichrist spirit.

The closer we draw to God, the more we desire to draw even closer. Holiness is a calling. The Nazarite chose to take a vow of holiness in life and in actions. We did not choose Christ, He chose us. But now He wants us to come even closer so we can be chosen of the Father to be sons.

No person can believe in Christ and be saved apart from the direction of God. It seems like we are making the decision: Phi 2:13 But it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.

I have heard it said recently there are no saints today. I believe there are Saints. They are the called out ones who will be holy and close to God.

Zec 2:5 For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

Holiness is addictive. Once we get a taste of what it means to be part of God and His holiness, we will crave more and more and more. 1Pe 1:15-16 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (16) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Are you an amateur Christian or a Professional one? He that overcomes shall become a son of God!

What is Church?

In the book of Revelation, the Bible describes the Churches as separate geographically located groups of Christian believers that were under the care of an overseer, and-or messenger. The Lord addresses His message to the church through the angel of the church. Easton’s Bible Dictionary definition for the wordAngel” signifies, both in the Hebrew and Greek, a “messenger,” and hence employed to denote any agent God sends forth to execute his purposes.

The churches mentioned in the book of Revelations are: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. There are other churches mentioned in the writings of Paul and Timothy, such as the Churches of Ephesus; and Corinth, and Rome, and Galatia; and each had messengers from the Lord. Though the church building is nothing without the people, still the church is also more than just a gathering place for those who believe in God. Church is divinely appointed as a gathering place for believers to give to God, and receive from God. It is a place where Christians gather to give God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ corporate worship, and pay tithe and offerings. Church is a place where the Presence of the Lord can be found in a profound way, and lives can be changed. Church is a place where the people of God can receive direction and encouragement in the unity of the faith.

Heb 10:21-25 (KJV) “And having an high priest over the house of God; (22) Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. (23) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) (24) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

Church is a place where God can speak too, and even touch, the things in us that concern His Kingdom in us. Christians need to be able to understand the will of God for their lives, and to be anointed to complete it.

Rev 3:1-6 (KJV) “And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. (2) Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. (3) Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. (4) Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. (5) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (6) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”

We all need to personally hear from God on a daily basis, but we must never despise nor forsake the gathering together of ourselves in the church lest we be fragmented and disunity begins to reign.

Matthew Henry Commentary: Rev 3:1-6 “The Lord Jesus is He that hath the Holy Spirit with all his powers, graces, and operations. Hypocrisy, and lamentable decay in religion, are sins charged upon Sardis, by One who knew that church well, and all her works. Outward things appeared well to men, but there was only the form of godliness, not the power; a name to live, not a principle of life. There was great deadness in their souls, and in their services; numbers were wholly hypocrites, others were in a disordered and lifeless state. Our Lord called upon them to be watchful against their enemies, and to be active and earnest in their duties; and to endeavour, in dependence on the grace of the Holy Spirit, to revive and strengthen the faith and spiritual affections of those yet alive to God, though in a declining state. Whenever we are off our watch, we lose ground. Thy works are hollow and empty; prayers are not filled up with holy desires, alms-deeds not filled up with true charity, Sabbaths not filled up with suitable devotion of soul to God. There are not inward affections suitable to outward acts and expressions; when the spirit is wanting, the form cannot long remain. In seeking a revival in our own souls, or the souls of others, it is needful to compare what we profess with the manner in which we go on, that we may be humbled and quickened to hold fast that which remains. Christ enforces his counsel with a dreadful threatening if it should be despised. Yet our blessed Lord does not leave this sinful people without some encouragement. He makes honourable mention of the faithful remnant in Sardis, he makes a gracious promise to them. He that overcometh shall be clothed in white raiment; the purity of grace shall be rewarded with the perfect purity of glory. Christ has his book of life, a register of all who shall inherit eternal life; the book of remembrance of all who live to God, and keep up the life and power of godliness in evil times. Christ will bring forward this book of life, and show the names of the faithful, before God, and all the angels, at the great day.”

“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 19, No. 11 November 2010

The blessings from the Lord come to those who will continue to praise Him in the good times and the bad. Also to those who will magnify the Lord with thanksgiving. There is nothing the Lord will not do for those who continually do this. The righteousness of Christ will fill our lives with the joyful sound and cause us to arise as a light out of the darkness. The Lord will be gracious and full of compassion when we need His help. He will not forget us or abandon us in times of trouble.

We are now coming into a most blessed season of the year. For many it is going to be a difficult and painful time. For others they just want to get past it. But for some, we will continue to praise the Lord with thanksgiving regardless of our circumstances because Jesus Christ still rules and reigns victoriously.

The times are upon us. Let us be like the sons of Issachar who know what season is upon us and respond according to the will of God. Let us not be moved nor be afraid of evil tidings, but fix our hearts in trusting the Lord for our salvation and blessings.

My heart goes out to the troubled soul, but I will keep my eyes securely on the One who is exalted above all else.

From Survival To Attack

Num 32:20-23 (KJV) “And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before the LORD to war, (21) And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him, (22) And the land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the LORD. (23) But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.”

There are multitudes today trying to find peace without the price for freedom. The Lord says if you do not fight for and with your brothers in the battle you have sinned against the Lord and your sin will follow you. You will reap what you have sown.

Before Moses died the Lord had not given the Israelites a clear definition of the boundaries of the Land of Promise. When Joshua took over everything began to be clarified. During the forty years in the wilderness the Jews did not need to know the boundaries of their promise land. They were told it was a good place, and that was enough. The same is true today. The church understands God is leading us to a good place, and we assume this is heaven.

When the ministry of Moses came to a conclusion and the Joshua ministry was at hand, clarity came forth. We must get this mentality today. It is a new day of the Lord. Everything is different than what we have been used to. The next generation to come will better understand these days than we do.

The wilderness journey was one long struggle for survival in the Presence of the Lord. The Jews had to have patience and obey the Lord. They were shown how to live a godly life and to deal with obstacles. This was their INTERNAL STRUGGLE FOR EXISTENCE.

When Moses died and Joshua took over they had to face a new way of life as they prepared to drive out the enemy from their land of promise. The struggle was not for personal survival. Their struggle was for the purpose of driving out the enemy from their land of promise and it was a place of attack.

So it is today. Most people are deeply involved with their personal struggles: they struggle just to take up their crosses and follow Christ. They are lukewarm; they carry bitterness over things they don’t understand and they are frustrated in the way of life and they don’t know if they can trust the Lord with total obedience.

But there is a remnant of the entire church. They are ready to move on with the work of the Spirit and of Christ against the enemy, so they can come into the promises of God. But in order to do this they must set forth the boundaries of the land of promise.

5- Boundaries that must be established:

1. Untroubled rest in God’s per

son and will

2. Change in our personality

3. Transformation of our body

4. Inheritance

5. Making all things new in

Christ

Know the enemy is entrenched deeply in each of these areas. And you find this to be true when you attempt to enter into the land of promise.

1. UNTROUBLED REST IN THE WILL OF GOD.

Rom 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. (2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Get it out of your mind the idea you cannot do God’s perfect will! Get it out of your mind that you have to sin! (Remember when it is in your mind it is not sin unless you respond to it.) Both of these ideas are from Satan and he is the father of lies. The Bible clearly tells us no Christian is to be practicing known sin. There is only one will of God for you and me at any point in time. If we are not doing it we are rebelling against God and it produces leanness (Psm.106:15). IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO DO GOD’S WILL. All you have to do is tell God you want to do His perfect will and He will give you grace to do it. He is not a hard taskmaster. Satan is the hard taskmaster that cannot be pleased. God is easy to please. His commands are not grievous. Unless you are under great conviction you are doing the will of God for your life. But the enemy keeps you in a state of no confidence or satisfaction of life.

Satan is the one who keeps us away from the presence of God and keeps us fearful of him. Satan has demands that no one can keep continually. THE MOMENT YOU DECIDE TO DO GOD’S WILL PERFECTLY YOU ARE IN A FIGHT AGAINST SATAN. Do you want to just be a survivor or will you attack the enemy of your soul?

The people in the land of promise had been there for hundreds of years. They resisted the Jews with all their might. And what happened, the Israelites compromised with them. And because of that the Jews never had peace to this very day.

All of that was given to us as an example of what will happen if we don’t learn the attack plan and the boundaries of our promise land. Once we determine to do this there is no darkness that can stand before us because the all powerful Christ is filling our being with His glory.

2. CHANGE IN OUR PERSONALITY:

Rom 8:29 “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

Man was created to be in God’s image. That does not mean a partial image. Once, again when you determine you are going to be in the image of God, the enemy will come against you with all he has. Satan wants you in his image. That way he can remain in the earth and keep the Lord from taking over.

Our adamic nature cannot imitate Christ successfully. We have to want to be like Christ continually coming to Him for strength and change. DON’T SAY “I DON’T WANT TO CHANGE.” That is the tactic of Satan.

We have a seed growing in us. That seed is the image of Christ. The old nature must be rooted out to make room for the new nature to flourish. This means a disciplined life, denying ourselves, taking up our crosses and following the Lord each day. Every day we have the opportunity to turn away from sin. When we do Christ grows in us. He feeds us with His body and blood spiritually speaking making us strong to attack the enemy.

The more we do this the greater the portion of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit begin to rule our being. This continues until Christ fills the throne room with His glory leaving no room for Satan’s darkness and gloom.

Why does Satan fight us tooth and nail? To keep us from believing we can be filled with the fullness of God. The Lord simply says, “Keep my commands and the Father and the Son will make their dwelling in us. [A lie Satan has convinced people with is that God gives us grace and we don’t have to keep His commands.] Satan wants to continue to dwell comfortably in us.

3. Transformation of our body:

1Co 6:19-20 (KJV) “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (20) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”

Do not give up on your body! The body is the third part of our personality and is very important to God. Through Christ we can possess our soul. We are not fully man until we have regained our body.

Many are waiting to die to go into the spirit realm. But once you do, you will want your body. Satan and demons and angels don’t have a body. That is why they want yours. The only way to enjoy the earthly realm is with a body. This generation is willing to give their bodies to Satan believing their soul and spirit will be saved. Remember it is the temple of God. Our body does not belong to us, it belongs to God. Cleanse yourself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. We need to fight to keep our bodies pure and whole and safe.

4. INHERITANCE:

Psa 2:8 “Ask of me, and I shall give [thee] the heathen [for] thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth [for] thy possession.”

God must put it in your heart to love people above everything else in this life. Outside of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father there is no greater gift. The nations will never know lasting love and joy and peace until the people of God stand up for one another. The more we press into Christ the greater the people will profit. We only have one opportunity in this life to gain this kind of love.

5. All things will be made new in Christ:

Rev 21:5 “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

There is nothing that will not be made new. For all of creation must be summed up in the Lord Jesus Christ. God is making everything new, and Satan still tries to stop it through a people who still just want to survive.

It is up to you and me to press forward now, in our day, for God is moving past survival into attacking the enemy that kept His creation in darkness and doubt and death.

Nov. 5: I am my Beloved’s and He is mine.

Nov. 7: Lord, Your word is forever. If Your instruction had not been my delight, I would have died in my affliction. I will never forget Your precepts, for You have given me life through them.

Nov. 12: Dear Lord…There is chaos and darkness and lies all around us. But in You there is peace and light and truth. I chose You and You have chosen me. Thank You for the best life in Jesus Christ.

Nov. 14: The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run into it and is safe.

(Proverbs 18:10)

Nov. 17: Something good is going to happen.

Nov. 20: The cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and the lust of other things choke out the word and it becomes unfruitful. But those who sow in good ground will be fruitful and some will come to the fullness.

Nov. 21: And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare his works with rejoicing. (Psm 107:22) The attitude of thanksgiving just keeps going and going.

Nov. 23: You are all that matters, Lord. No matter what, Your love never fails.

Nov. 24: I have given you a heart of flesh and filled you with My Spirit. Now I will cause you to know Me greater than before. You will obey and do my works.

All of Psm 88 is My heart’s cry, but I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever. With my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness to all generations.

Nov. 28: We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. Always being in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

The Word: Now and Forever

The Word of God, the Holy Bible, is filled with everything that pertains to life and godliness. So why would we look somewhere else for the answers to life’s questions. God’s Word also contains benefits in the form of promises that He has made that will allow us to partake of His divine nature. Those benefits and promises are entered into by getting to know the Lord and by following His Word by faith.

2Pe 1:2-4 (KJV) “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, (3) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

It is important to know that relationship with the Lord is the key right from the start. There are people who use evangelistic tactics that consist of random communications with passersby, that by simply asking a person if they believe in God, and then offering them an escape from eternal destruction through the recital of a prayer, proceed to inform that person that they are now ready for eternity in heaven. Well, the truth is that there is more to it than that. First of all the Word of God says that those who come to Jesus must be drawn by the Heavenly Father and that a person also has to be able to comprehend; or come to know God, not just know about Him.

Joh 6:44 (KJV) “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.” & Joh 1:1-5 (KJV} “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. (4) In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (5) And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

It is clearly a fact that people must hear and receive the word of God before they can come to know Him. God is the author of the Holy Bible, and He will write His words upon our hearts, and reveal His will to us as we grow in relationship with Him if we choose to let Him.

Rom 10:17 (KJV) “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Things are constantly changing in the world, and people everywhere seem to be questioning what they believe and why they believe it. A large part of the reason for that doubt and double mindedness is caused by the words we hear and the things we see happening. Almost all of us are subjected to some part of the knowledge of good and evil every day in some way, and even if we make the choice not to take in the evil, we still feel the vexation of it around us. Although we cannot change the world in a day, we can be sure not to let the world change us. Remember we have access to the promises that can keep us in the will of God, and we have access to God Who made those promises. We also have access to just about anything we can think of in the world, but the question is; what will we choose?

Mar 4:19 (KJV) “And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.”

Relationship with the Word of God is more than just a onetime prayer. God will keep us whole but mixture will destroy us.

Luk 21:33-36 (KJV) “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (34) And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. (35) For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. (36) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”

“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 19, No. 10 October 2010

Sometimes I wonder how God endures our responses. In the Old Testament, God was pretty hard on his people through the leadership of Israel. Time after time the kings kept sinning and God would proclaim judgment and the next king would be worse than the previous one. Once in a while a king would come along that was God fearing and the favor of God would be upon him and the land.

The Lord is looking for a royalpriesthood of believers in this time of great shaking. He is looking for the ones who will honor the Lord at all times and reveal the Lord’s favor. Let us rise up to the calling of the hour. Don’t be fooled by what is taking place in the land. Be what you are called to be and stay strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

Remember that you have come to the Kingdom for such a time as this. Now is the time. Don’t ignore the timing of God. We are going to see many changes that can’t even be fathomed in the days ahead. But let the change be in you that God is your God and you can still rejoice in the God of your salvation.

Security & Survival

Joh 6:57 (KJV) “As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.”

There is a question today about our security and survival. God has intentionally done this for one reason: to live a more personal lifestyle in Jesus Christ. As good or as bad as it may seem, the Lord wants us to know the power of His resurrection. The only way to come to this is to know the fellowship of His sufferings. WE MUST LEARN TO LIVE BY HIM AS HE LIVES BY THE FATHER. This is a much more intimate relationship than when we first received Christ.

Coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ means we have to learn to trust Him for our security and survival in the world. Any time you are being pulled in any direction you must be able to identify what is operating. Our basic human experiences will determine our security and survival. If we have been raised to depend on a paycheck every week then that is what we put our security in. If we have been raised to let our parents give us everything we need then that is our mentality for survival. If we allow the government to tell us they will provide for us then we are willing to feel safe as long as the government is coming through. But the Bible tells us this is all deceptive. Our concept of trusting God for our physical security must be completely overhauled in this generation.

The only way to genuinely know the Lord Jesus Christ is to gain victory over lusts, and desires of the flesh. God is willing to deliver us from this carnal way of existing; He is willing to fill us with joy in the Holy Ghost if we will accept His way of becoming a disciple. But the lust for gratification, entertainment and thrills has captivated the hearts and minds of people in every walk of life including the church.

Today God is sending His holy fire to burn away all that is not of Him. It is our responsibility to stand unmoved until the wood, hay and stubble are burned away. This is not easy but Paul tells us: Rom 8:13 “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”

The only way to endure this kind of deliverance is obedience to the Father. IF YOU ARE NOT LEARNING HOW TO DENY YOURSELF FOR PERIODS OF TIME YOU WILL NOT BE PREPARED IN THE DAY OF THE LORD. We must be patient in tribulation, in frustration and in pain. We must never step forth in our own lusts and ambition to bring a temporary moment of satisfaction that is harmful to our spiritual man. Instead we are to wait on God, looking continually to Him for every breath we take. [Many of you are now experiencing this new walk and you don’t like it, but God is in it.]

Transformation only comes as we surrender our thoughts to Him to lead us (Romans 12:2). He says in order to find the good, acceptable and perfect will of God is to present your body as a living sacrifice. God’s will is found in things close at hand, things we are familiar with, not in things we don’t know or experience on a regular basis.

Part of God’s plan in bringing the body into maturity is to move the congregations from passive listening to more active participation. How do we do this? It is your responsibility to participate in every service, in every prayer meeting and in all the praise and worship to God. Psa 150:3-6 “Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. (4) Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. (5) Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. (6) Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”

Does this sound like everyone is to get involved? Why do we remain frozen in our seats. Something needs to stir us from complacency - so we encourage you to join in. But you must be willing to let go and give glory and honor to the Lord willingly. It is better than exercise; it is more stimulating than food; and it produces life abundant and breakthroughs. IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO REBOOT AND GET ACTIVATED.

We are not ready for the Lord to appear. The greatest need is to grow in the maturity of Christ. We are going to appear with Christ in His glory bringing forth the right kind of relationships with God and man, but first the body must be built into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

The significance of Israel invading Canaan was not to receive fertile land. The significance was to judge the demonic practices of the Canaanites. God is not going to build a giant playground so people can have fun. He wants evil removed from His creation. There must be an army of warriors who will be prepared to descend as we follow the Commander in Chief. And that means BE READY AT A MOMENTS NOTICE.

We are learning how to battle in prayer.

We are learning how to worship with fervent shouts of glory.

We are recognizing what gets God’s attention.

We are becoming a band of trumpets as we join in unison with one voice to praise the Lord: 2Ch 5:13 “It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers [were] as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up [their] voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, [saying], For [he is] good; for his mercy [endureth] for ever: that [then] the house was filled with a cloud, [even] the house of the LORD;”

We are experiencing the Presence of the Lord in the day of battle.

And yet some will sit idly by wishing it would quiet down and be solemn like a funeral home. [Does anyone truly like funeral homes?] You won’t find warriors hanging around funeral homes. Warriors are active, on-the-go, full of energy and strength. THERE OUGHT TO BE HIGH PRAISES ON THE LIPS OF THE SAINTS WHEN THEY LEAVE THE CHURCH. [Now I am not criticizing – I am training you for war.]

Do you know what a frozen-chosen is? A graven image that can’t move!

2Ti 2:4 (KJV) “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” No soldier has his security and survival in the world. This is serious business. We must have a desire above all else to please our Beloved; to serve our Beloved; and to obey our Beloved. The days of foolishness are over. The tares of sin are maturing. It can’t be stopped. We cannot be a part of it. We are to be on call 24 hours a day in this Lord’s army. Why do you think you are experiencing such dramatic change in your life? It is essential to mature in Christ.

The return of the Lord is to bring justice to the nations of the earth. That means there has to be in place an army to conquer the works of Satan and there has to be a church prepared to minister life to the nations that are spared at His coming.

Driving Satan from the earth is violent warfare with all the strength of the Spirit of God. (Rev. 19:11-16). He who is called and chosen must be proven faithful by overcoming, through Christ, all the works of Satan. The God of peace will soon crush Satan underneath your feet (Rom.16:20).

Joe 2:11 “And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp [is] very great: for [he is] strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD [is] great and very terrible; and who can abide it?”

The Lord inhabits the praises of His people, and He dines off our worship and obedience. That means He goes with you wherever you go if you live this kind of life. It is time for these dumb sheep to become mighty warriors. The face of Christianity is changing as much as the world order is changing.

Can you hear the war drums of El Shaddai, the Almighty One. THE BRIDE OF CHRIST, WHO IS NOT CORRUPTED IN HIS MIND BY SATAN, WANTS TO WORSHIP WITH A WHOLE HEART AND BRING HIS SACRIFICES TO THE ALTAR OF THE LORD. He wants to BE SECURE IN THE LORD. HIS SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON LIVING TOTALLY DEPENDANT UPON THE LORD AT ALL TIMES. And it takes a people who are growing in the maturity of Christ.

Most Christians have never come to this place of denying themselves and taking up their personal crosses to set out after their Master. If we are going to walk in the safety of Christ then we better be ready today.

The Lord is dealing endlessly with us night and day with every word, every action and every motive. We are under the scrutinizing eye of God because of His great love for us. We may be perplexed, cast down, persecuted or frustrated. We may be weak and worn, but we are being made a place of safety and security to press into the new realm of glory that is being revealed.

Walk With God

The Christian is a person who is already physically living, but has encountered the Word, and the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ; and now is born again. Born again Christians have heard the Living Word of God, and now allow Him to live in their hearts and direct their steps. Many people have quoted a prayer because they were told that if they did they would be saved from hell. But being saved from hell is not the goal; the goal is to be reconciled with our creator and to be able to fellowship with now and forever.

Joh 3:4-21 (KJV) “Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? (5) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (7) Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (8) The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (9) Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? (10) Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? (11) Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. (12) If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? (13) And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. (14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: (15) That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (20) For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (21) But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”

If we believe the first parts of the scriptures that we just read, then we should believe the last parts as well. People that do evil love the darkness instead of the light; and they even hate the light. But if they would come to the light and let their deeds be reproved, then The Lord would guide them into the deeds that are truly wrought in God. Only God knows best how to keep us from the whiles of the enemies of our souls. He will complete that which He has started in all who continue to believe in, and walk with Him.

Luk 5:22-25 (KJV) “But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? (23) Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? (24) But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. (25) And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.”

Christians must never forget that it is God who gives us the power to overcome the flesh, the world and the evil one. We must not walk self-righteously lest we fall into because of pride, but rather believe God and walk with Him.

“That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving...” Psalm 26:7

Vol. 19, No. 9 September 2010

It is not easy to find the Presence of the Lord. But for those who will be filled with the Holy Spirit, His Presence will be manifest in all that they do. Yes, there is a Presence that will keep you through anything. We must know this Presence and be able to recognize it at a moment’s notice.

God’s people need comfort today. There is no true comfort for anyone on this earth except that of the Holy Spirit. He comforts, He guides, and He directs us to the Father of Mercy and makes His Presence known to us so we will not faint in this day of trouble.

This song keeps playing over in my heart. May the words bless you:

I WILL BE WITH YOU

By: Bill Batstone

“I will be with you - In joy and in pain, Your cry for mercy - Echoes

My name.

Now and forever - I'll be at hand, I will be with you, I will be with you - For that's Who I am.

I will be with you, I'll be on your side. Your prayer for deliverance - Will not be denied.

I'll fight the battles - That evil might wage - I will be with you, I will be with you - 'Til the end of the age.

I will be with you, There's no need to fear. How can they harm you, When I hold you near?

Your life is in My life, Come peril or sword. I will be with you, I will be with you - For I am the Lord.

I.., I will be with you! I.., I will be with you! Now and forever - I'll be at hand,

I will be with you, I will be with you, For that’s who I Am.”

Victim, Survivor, or Overcomer

2Ti 2:12 (KJV) “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:”

Rev 2:26-27 “And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: (27) And he shall rule…”

We are being prepared today for the real world! (What does that say about the present one?) We have some idea about what that world will be, but are we willing to stay the course for the real world to become a reality? If you really want this, then you are going to find out that the real world is a place of intense activity. Each of us will have responsibilities assigned by God. There will be no more welfare, hospital, rehab programs, or therapy. Do you realize how much of our time is spent in these areas?

There are three categories you might belong to:

· Victim

· Survivor

· Overcomer

Victim = a person who has been cheated, fooled or injured through unforeseen circumstances.

Survivor = a person who stays alive when others perish

Overcomer = a person who prevails, conquers and is victorious

A victim is the result of demonic activity

A survivor is one who lives by the flesh

An overcomer is one who is living by the eternal Spirit of God ruling and reigning over him

Which one are you?

The days are almost here when people are going to want to die to get out of their messes. But Revelation tells us they won’t be able to. Well why? If all we are preparing for is to go to heaven, why not get a head start?

What did John the Baptist preach?

What did Jesus preach?

Repentance!

For what reason?

They did not preach to go to heaven.

Repentance was preached to prepare for the coming Kingdom of God. Do you see why repentance is not important today when the church is preaching going to heaven? It isn’t necessary. John the Baptist and Jesus preached repentance to prepare for the coming Kingdom.

What are we preparing for today? There is only one way to keep yourself prepared with all the darkness and trouble – repent when you blow it or get caught in the turmoil.

You can remain a victim because of all the demonic activity; you can just survive while everyone around you dies off; or you can overcome and prepare to rule and reign with Christ Jesus.

The Kingdom of God is not a place; it is a system of rulership. Today we live in a system of democracy. But God is bringing it down. It is the best system the world has known, but there is a new Kingdom coming into focus. The Kingdom is a system of “rulership.” Before democracy there were kingdoms in this world. Democracy says , “One for all and all for one.” Everyone has a vote and a say in what is done and how it is to be done. In America we don’t understand what a Kingdom is. We like to accuse our government when it doesn’t satisfy. We have no respect for the one trying to do the leading. We don’t honor him as a leader even though he makes the most difficult decisions in the world. When we refer to our president by his last name only but omit his position as President, we show that we have lost the integrity of rulership.

What have we done with Jesus Christ even though He is our ruler? We call Him J.C. Anything to show we do not fear Him.

While this transition is taking place it becomes extremely painful to serve the King. The enemy wants you to feel like a “victim,” that you are just barely making. But my Bible tells me I am to be an Overcomer = one who conquers and prevails and is victorious.

So we have to learn what it means to come into a Kingdom. When the Lord returns, He will come with His warriors and His nobles; together they will come in power and all the other kingdoms will bow to King Jesus. If we have not learned how to treat Him now, when He comes we won’t meet Him with the appropriate response. Otherwise we will just treat Him like any other leader.

Did any of you know that Jesus is not a Westerner? He doesn’t dress like us. He won’t be coming in a business suit. He is an oriental King and His Rule will be Jerusalem. Do you fear Him?

Psa 2:12 “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish [from] the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed [are] all they that put their trust in him.”

Rulership is what this day is about. We need to update our speech. We have said Jesus is coming to rule and to reign. But now we need to begin to say, “Jesus is coming to reign and we are going to rule in His Kingdom.”

Isa 32:1 (KJV) “Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.”

“To reign” means to ascend the throne. “To rule” means to have dominion, authority, power. These words are synonymous. They are one in the same. It is Christ in us who will reign, and we will ascend the throne in Christ. Why is this different thinking? Because we are the ones who are called to rule! And we must be prepared to do so.

2Ti 2:12 “If we suffer, we shall also reign with [him]: if we deny [him], he also will deny us:”

“Reign” is to reign together. It means to rule! We are going to rule with Him. The real world is going to be very busy because people are ruling. [Say this to yourself: “I AM GOING TO RULE WITH CHRIST.”] Why we are going through the trouble we are in today? Because we have become lazy, believing eternal life is nothing but floating on clouds and playing games.

[Scriptures on ruling and reigning: Mat.19:28; Luk.19:17; 2 Tim.2:12; Rev.2:27; Rev.3:21;

Rev 22:5 says “They shall reign forever and ever.”]

The promises of rulership are to those who overcome. Conversely, those who do not overcome will be ruled by those who do. No one in the new Kingdom will not be ruled. But this generation won’t have it that way. So God says, “Die to the idea that says, ‘No one is going to tell me what to do.’” This type of rebellion is so deep in the heart of man that at the end of 1000 years of Christ Jesus’ reigning on the earth, people will still say “NO” to His authority. I can’t comprehend that! You may think, “I don’t care if God rules me, but I am not going to have some man rule over me.”

What does it mean to rule? To rule or to reign is to govern your circumstance and the circumstances of others. That’s it.

You cannot remain a victim. You cannot remain a survivor and become a ruler. You must learn to reign over your own circumstances!

When you come to yourself and begin to say, “I am not going to let that man or woman tell me what to do,” there is a problem. I am not saying you have to do what another says; but I am saying is that when another person tries to help you find life, resolution, surrender, or healing, but you adamantly refuse, you are demonstrating that you need a change. But because America and the church will not submit, God is going to allow trouble worse than the world has ever known to hit this land. [I don’t want to hear this verdict, but I am wise enough in the Lord to listen to the reason of God.]

The Kingdom is one of rule by a rod of iron: the rod of iron is developed in your personality every time you are tempted and you overcome that temptation through Christ. Each time you pray and get the strength to do what God wants, you are producing a rod of strength that enables you to begin to rule and reign.

There is only one way to develop this strength: Righteousness. When we are left to believe we can live anyway we please without concern for what God’s Word teaches or what the prophets are saying, we are not living in righteousness.

We are now in a time when even the Christians are not able to resist. But God will not change. We have to change and build within us this rod of iron so we will be overcomers -- Not survivors, but OVERCOMERS. With this overcoming ability we will be compelling others to live righteously instead of compromising with the world.

Our Ways? Or the High Way?

The Lord our God expects us to have common sense, which is defined as sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of situations or facts; but He does not expect us to limit His definitions and His abilities to the basis of our understanding. Much of what God says and does is counter – intuitive, or contrary to what intuition or common sense would indicate according to our ways of understanding. Therefore, because of naturally leaning upon our own intellect, intuition, and common sense, we all struggle with fully grasping the depth of God’s words and His ways.

Isa 55:8-9 (KJV) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. (9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

We read in the Bible that the Lord often gathered disciples unto Himself and spoke to them in parables. Some people might think that to be peculiar, but a good teacher will always teach someone “how to learn,” as well as “what to learn.” Jesus’ main teaching tool was by example, and then He would follow up with instructions; but the central life lesson was that believers should always follow the Word of God by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Joh 16:13-14 (KJV) “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (14) He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.”

The disciples had a hard enough time comprehending what God was establishing right in front of them, and yet He still told them of things that would come later. Obviously, there were definitely worldly obstacles in the hearts and minds of the disciples that needed to be dealt with, just as there are with us who believe and follow the Lord today; and those obstacles serve to show us our need to change. The disciples were thinking that the purpose of Jesus’ coming was to set up His natural Kingdom in the earth and to set them in positions of leadership as well. Contrary to their thinking, it was the will and the Word of God the Father that Jesus Christ would be offered up as the final sacrifice for the sins of mankind.

Luk 9:22-26 (KJV) “…, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. (23) And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (24) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. (25) For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? (26) For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.”

Lose your life to find it. We are made great by becoming small. We are exalted when we are humble. We become wise by being fools for Christ's sake. We are made free by becoming bondservants. We gain strength when we are weak. Each of the previous statements is a great paradox -- a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a truth; but remember that they could also be expressed counter – intuitively, so we don’t want to lean on our own understanding. Instead, we should follow the Spirit of truth for revelation and application in every facet of our lives -- that is, if we want to follow the High way instead of our way.

Rivers of Breakthrough

The other night I had a vision of a dam breaking. In the vision I [saw] rushing water that broke through the dam with massive force. This water did not appear as ordinary water but it was crystal clear and it was flowing into a stream and it came forth with great strength and intensity.
Not long after having this vision I received an email from breaking news, which said that an actual dam had broken in Iowa. It was reported that the dam break was due to the heavy rains. As I read the news brief the Holy Spirit revealed to me that the vision represented the water coming down from heaven, bringing extraordinary breakthroughs.
The Lord says just as you have witnessed this dam break and water being released with great force I Am about to release My Living Water into the body of Christ with great intensity. Many people will be swept out of the enemy’s camp as My glory dispels the darkness from their lives. This water that I Am releasing is not ordinary water but it is living water that will bring breakthrough to areas of your lives that you have not been able to break out of. This living water will set the captives free from immorality that they were not able to overcome on their own. I

will destroy the barriers that are obstructing the flow of the Living water that brings life and many will be released and healed.
It will be a cleansing stream of purified water that will not only bring refreshing and renewing but also conviction of sin. These rivers of living water will break through and unshackle those that are bound in sin and release holiness to the body of Christ. I Am bringing streams in the deserts to those of you that are in a dry place and release those of you that need to be set free from ungodly mindsets.
This living water is not just for you to enjoy but for others to come into and enjoy the freedom that I have provided for them. Many will be in awe at the intensity of My Glory that I am releasing in this time and season says the Lord.

Ezekiel 47:9
And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes.”
John 4: 13 - 14
Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Revelation 22: 17
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

Next course from Christian Life Educators Network - Richmond Center:

Anonymous Women of Faith: A Theology of Faith by Dr. Alvis Harthern

This course is a study of the lives of people who demonstrated supernatural faith. Its purpose is

to teach students what faith is, how to get faith and how to live faith-based lives. The author uses

descriptors to classify the types of faith exhibited by each of the women studied. The study of

each type of faith (obedient, fearless, desperate, persistent, expectant, witnessing and resurrection) is initiated with the identification of an unnamed woman in Scripture who exhibited that specific faith. Others who exhibited each kind of faith are also included. October 7-9, 2010
